Stop-and-go system to be installed on a vehicle, suitable for terrain surveying
Make it easier for yourself to take pictures in the field and do without the cumbersome assembly and disassembly of tripod and laser scanner. Simply drive your car from scan position to scan position and capture the surroundings with the Scan&Go system in the shortest possible time and with less effort. This allows you to survey a large area quickly, accurately and without having to mark targets.
The Scan&Go system is a vehicle-based stop-and-go system for site surveying. The system consists of a leveling platform, a magnet holder and a target.
The leveling platform is mounted directly on the roof rack of a vehicle or on a telescopic mast. No matter how inclined the vehicle is - at the touch of a button you can level the platform with the 3D laser scanner.
Measuring principle:
The system is used in combination with a 3D laser scanner and two GPS receivers.
Mount the leveling platform on the vehicle roof. You attach the reference sphere to the trailer hitch with the support rod or on the bonnet of your vehicle with the magnetic holder. You must manually adjust the height of the support rod or magnet holder so that it forms a horizontal surface. Then attach a 3D laser scanner to the platform. Place a GPS receiver on the laser scanner; mount the other GPS receiver on the reference sphere. Now you can start scanning.
Drive from one scan position to another. At each scan position you have to stop the vehicle and level the leveling platform with the laser scanner at the push of a button. You can then scan the environment as usual. You don't have to mark any destinations.
During the scanning process, the position of the scanner is determined using the two GPS receivers. The GPS receiver on the target is used to orientate the scans. As a result, you get a representation of reality in a single three-dimensional reference system in your software.
Purpose of use:
Installation of the Scan&Go system together with a 3D laser scanner and GPS receivers on a vehicle
Many outdoor scanning positions have to be managed; Scanning positions can be reached with a motor vehicle
