For In-Line Measuring, a 3D 4K Laser Line Profile Sensor

The Z-Trak LP2C 3D profile sensor family has been introduced by Teledyne DALSA, a Teledyne Technologies business and a pioneer in machine vision technology, for in-line 3D measurement and inspection applications. The LP2C 4K sensors, the newest addition to the Z-Trak family, offer clients the ability to measure and inspect items with tighter tolerances and to detect tiny flaws at a lower cost. These sensors deliver 4,096 samples per profile with an x resolution down to 3.5 microns.

Teledyne's Z-Trak LP2C 4K sensors are factory calibrated and ready to use right out of the box. They combine fast scanning rates with simple software tools to produce highly repeatable and accurate height, width, and length measurements. 

Z-Trak LP2C is perfect for applications in the battery, automotive, industrial automation, robotics, and logistics industries thanks to its small size and straightforward wiring.

With a horizontal field of vision of up to 1200mm and measurement ranges of up to 650mm, Z-Trak variants are available. With its red and blue eye-safe lasers, the LP2C 4K series can also work with a variety of surfaces and materials.Reflection Elimination and In-Line Processing

Reflection Elimination and In-Line Processing

For the purpose of enhancing and improving the profiles, Z-Trak LP2C has in-line processing capabilities. Additionally, it can produce extra metadata for upstream algorithms to use in order to filter out unwanted reflections. Cleaner 3D scans generate reliable and accurate results.

Multi-Sensor Configuration and Unified Measurement Space (UMS)

The integration of numerous profile sensors is necessary for 3D inspection applications that call for 360° views, thickness measurement, an enlarged horizontal field of view without sacrificing the z-resolution or removing occlusion, etc. Data from various Z-Trak profilers are combined using Z-Expert, an easy-to-use configuration tool for the Z-Trak family of profilers, to create the Unified Measurement Space. The generated 3D data can be seen as a range map, mesh, or 3D point-cloud. For more measurements and analysis, the profiles from this 3D data can be extracted at any angle. Moreover, models with various measurement ranges and laser configurations can be mixed thanks to the Z-Trak profiler's architecture.

A free license of Sherlock 8, a graphical programming environment that enables quick application deployment, is included with every Z-Trak model. Sapera LT and a run-time license for Sapera Processing are also included in the Z-Trak software bundle.
