Free textures are wonderful tools that can save you time and enhance the detail in your 3D artwork and design. When you'd rather work on the main emphasis of your project, designing textures from scratch might be time-consuming. Fortunately, there are a ton of free textures online that you can download. 01. AmbientCG 

With more than 1,300 seamless PBR materials in JPG or PNG format, German designer Lennart Demes' AmbientCG is not only one of the most comprehensive texture libraries available online, but also one of the best. The majority of the textures on this page are 8K-compatible (even higher in some cases). They can all be shared and used for any purpose, whether it be personal or professional, because they are all free thanks to the CC0 Creative Commons license. SBSAR files are often included with materials, allowing users to modify them in Adobe Substance 3D.

02. Poly Haven

Another top-notch library made possible by Patreon patrons is Poly Haven, which was co-founded by graphic artist Rob Tuytel. Once more, all of its textures are freely usable for both personal and commercial purposes under CC0. Even though it contains fewer textures than the top site on our list—just over 200—all of them may be downloaded in PNG format at 8K and 16-bit resolution. For greater customization, you may also download the AO, Diffuse, Displacement, Normal, and Roughness Maps for each texture. The website also provides model and HDRI libraries.

03. Pixar One Twenty Eight

The 3DXO collection stands out for its simplicity of use and boasts a very respectable 623 free textures accessible for download. Finding the precise item you're looking for, whether it's a straightforward wall or floor surface or something a little more exotic, is quick and simple when you scan the collection. A small library of 3D models and stock pictures are also available for you to browse on the website, so stock up while you're there.

05. 3D Textures 

Despite not being as extensive as some other libraries, Joo Paulo's collection of free 3D textures is of excellent quality and has the extra benefit of diffuse, normal, displacement, occlusion, and specularity maps. You can download them individually, but Paulo will give you a link to the folder containing all of his textures if you buy him a coffee(opens in new tab). This way, you can download them all at once.

06. Texturer 

For 3D artists, designers, web designers, and animators, Texturer is a creative tool that offers a wide variety of no-cost, high-resolution textures. All textures are arranged into categories and subcategories for user convenience. These categories include anything from brick, buildings, and doors to animals, food, and cloth.

07. 3DTotal 

In addition to training, an inspiration gallery, 3D assets, and a free textures collection, 3D Total is an excellent tool for CG artists. Although it hasn't been changed recently, how often do textures actually change? 16,631 free high-resolution royalty-free photos are available on the website, which you may browse through using the site's search bar or by category. 08. Environment-textures.com 

Although there aren't many free textures available here, there is a decent variety. There is more variety available at a very low cost, with several discounts available, if you're ready to spend a little more.

After creating an account, you can download a huge selection of textures from Textures.com, including everything from X-Rays to animals. You can browse the site by texture type or see the most recent site additions. You can even try out a small number of tutorials.

10. Arroway Textures 

There are several wonderful surfaces available from Arroway Textures. This website offers both individual and packaged textures for sale, but thanks to a clever method, you may download free lower-resolution samples of nearly every texture they offer. They can only be utilized for non-commercial purposes, which is the only restriction.

11. TurboSquid 

In addition to having a sizable collection of professional-grade 3D models, TurboSquid also states that it has "the greatest collection of textures in the world." It certainly has a lot of content, and users are encouraged to contribute their own textures for sale.
