The M8 threaded connection is exactly above the reference point of the fixed point bolt/horizontal bolt, so that all accessories used (prisms, railroad spheres) are exactly above the fixed point known in terms of coordinates.
The distance between the reference point and the upper edge of the adapter is 20mm. Thus, the height of the prism/reference sphere can be determined exactly.
The perpendicular position of the adapter is achieved by means of a circular bubble and is fixed with the two locking screws.
The circular bubble can be viewed from above and below, which allows the use of lower and higher located fixed points.
