The Optical Displacement Sensor node is a measurement device that uses optical instruments to perform high-precision displacement measurements. These readings are then forwarded to a gateway via Senceive's wireless communications network.

The distance measurement provides information about the deformation of a targeted structure and the tilt measurement informs the user about the stability of the sensor itself and the reference structure to which it is mounted.

Optical displacement measurement is ideal for many structural and geotechnical monitoring applications, including measurements.
